Maths at Roby Mill is fun, exciting and rewarding. We follow White Rose planning and adapt this to suit the needs of our individual children. In the Early Years, children begin to recognise numbers and enjoy our weekly number focus activities. As children move into Key Stage One and Two, the skills they have developed are consolidated and extended through interactive, hands-on learning. Lessons are often taught in small groups and children develop their independent learning skills using online games and activities. Daily Flashback sessions enable us to revisit key learning and weekly arithmetic questions maintain our speed when calculating. We use TT Rockstars as part of our daily times table lessons and encourage children to achieve their best by celebrating successes with certificates. We are proudly ranked 2nd in our local schools for our speed (March 2023).
