History

Roby Mill’s History teaching and learning is meaningful to the children and is often linked to the local area and events they are familiar with. The curriculum is designed so that the children experience a wide range of topics covering local history, national history and the comparisons between this and civilisations from around the world.

From viewing staff photographs from the Valley of the Kings in Egypt, emailing ex-pupils about life at Roby Mill in the past, sifting through census and registers from when our school was opened to trying on Second World War memorabilia, all our learning is always engaging, inspiring and memorable. Recent visits have been to the local war memorial and to Liverpool Museum where we investigated World War One and the history of Liverpool.
